Care & Cleaning

Cleaning Recommendations

  • Always use a professional cleaning service for your rug. We discourage consumer self-cleaning methods, as they could damage the rug’s aesthetic and quality.
  • Clean any spills right away by blotting them with white paper towels or a clean, white terry cloth towel. Any moisture will weaken the fiber, and rubbing the surface of the rug can cause breakage or damage.
  • Vacuum the rug regularly to keep it free from debris, and avoid pulling any fiber knots out of the surface pile.
  • Avoid using a vacuum with a “beater bar”, as it may case the rug’s fibers to pull or snag. If snagging happens, do not pull the fiber knots out of the surface pile.

Care and Maintenance

  • We recommend using rug pads with all Loominarea rugs to help extend their life and protect the surfaces beneath.
  • Pile shedding is normal with high-quality area rugs, particularly with wool or other natural fibers. Do not be alarmed if this occurs.
